Time for exploring the medieval town and for walking trips through the rolling hillsides, vineyards and forests surrounding it. The great 'art' cities of Florence and Siena are within easy reach for a day trip.

Itinerary and Highlights
- Day 1 Arrive in the charming hill town of San Gimignano.
Your base for the next three nights is a converted palace of the 14th century located in the heart of the town and built on a hill overlooking the Val d’Elsa valley. The hotel consists of thirty nine rooms, each one furnished in Florentine style all with private facilities. - Day 2 Exploring San Gimignano
Tour the medieval town of San Gimignano, with its evocative 13th and 14th century architecture and art. After lunch continue on a circular route that leads you through the hills surrounding the small town. Be sure to sample several varieties of Vernaccia, the most famous wine produced by San Gimignano, wild boar and also the world's best gelato. (Saffron Cream, Champagne and Grapefruit). Overnight San Gimignano. - Day 3 Amble through the characteristic Tuscan landscape to Colle di Val d’Elsa, an historic walled hill town with perfectly preserved medieval ‘tunnel streets’. Today, Colle di Val d'Elsa is internationally renowned for the production of crystal glassware and art (15% of world production). Walk up to the medieval walled town located along the ridge and end up at the other side of town. Late afternoon travel by local bus back to San Gimignano. 13 Kms (3 hours)
- Day 4 Arrangements end after breakfast.
OPTIONAL DAY TRIP TO SIENA: Extend your stay an extra night and take a day trip to Siena, the best preserved medieval city in Italy.
OPTIONAL DAY TRIP TO FLORENCE: Explore the most famous sights of Florence's ancient centre. Wander the hallways viewing the treasure trove of art at the the Uffizi Gallery and see the famous Statue of David at Academia. Not to mention the wonderful shopping opportunities and the open air markets would be an omission! - Day 5
