Itinerary and Highlights
- Day 1 Arrive Lima.
- Day 2 Fly to Cusco – start the acclimatising process
- Day 3 Cusco - Morning tour of this former Inca capital and the monolithic walls of Sacsayhuaman set high above the city.
- Day 4 Sacred Valley Of The Incas – Enroute to the Sacred Valley enjoy impressive views of three mountain ranges and the remarkable Inca salt pans. Afternoon free to enjoy the beauty of the valley.
- Day 5 The Sacred Valley – visit citadels, temple ruins and fortresses and the site at Ollantaytambo, a mixture of colonial and Inca architecture.
- Day 6 Inca Trail - In 4 days we ascend trails from the jungle to alpine campsites beneath snow-capped Andean peaks until we reach the ‘Lost city of the Incas’.
- Day 7 Inca Trail - In 4 days we ascend trails from the jungle to alpine campsites beneath snow-capped Andean peaks until we reach the ‘Lost city of the Incas’.
- Day 8 Inca Trail - In 4 days we ascend trails from the jungle to alpine campsites beneath snow-capped Andean peaks until we reach the ‘Lost city of the Incas’.
- Day 9 Inca Trail - In 4 days we ascend trails from the jungle to alpine campsites beneath snow-capped Andean peaks until we reach the ‘Lost city of the Incas’.
- Day 10 Machu Picchu – Sunrise visit to the ruins. Mid afternoon board the train to Ollantaytambo then transfer back to Cusco.
- Day 11 Cusco – free day
- Day 12 Fly back to Lima where the tour concludes.
