Itinerary and Highlights

  • Day 1 Arrive Istanbul and transfer to hotel.
  • Day 2 Morning sightseeing tour of the Old City: the Blue Mosque; ancient Hippodrome with Obelisk of Theodosius; Saint Sofia and the Snake Pillar. Afternoon travel by road to Ankara.
  • Day 3 Visit the Anatolian Civilisation Museum. Drive to Cappadocia, the land of fairy chimneys. Explore the incredible underground city of Derinkuyu. Walk through the Love Valley to see unique rock formations.
  • Day 4 As per Day 3
  • Day 5 Walk in Kizilcukur (Red Valley) and Pasabaglari Valley.
  • Day 6 Walk through the Ilhara Valley then drive to Konya, home of the Whirling Dervishes.
  • Day 7 Visit Mevlana’s Mausoleum then drive to coastal Antalya. Visit Aspendo’s well preserved ancient theatre.
  • Day 8 Explore the Lycian town of Phaselis enroute to the seaside village of Kas.
  • Day 9 Relax on a boat cruise of the bay of Kekova amongst picturesque islands and coves.
  • Day 10 Explore the Lycian site Xanthos the visit the picturesque bay of Oludeniz. Drive to Fethiye on the coast where Lycian rock-cut tombs overlook the town from a steep cliff above.
  • Day 11 At Pamukkale see the spectacular natural pools then the ruins of Hierapolis.
  • Day 12 Drive to Selcuk and explore the ruins of Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
  • Day 13 Drive to Canakkale and the ancient site of legendary Troy.
  • Day 14 Visit the battlefields of Gallipoli and Anzac Cove the return to Istanbul.
  • Day 15 Trip ends in Istanbul after breakfast.
