Learn Italian language and discover the region of Emilia Romagna while staying in a pretty rustic village in the hills that border Tuscany.

Portico de Romagna (translates as ‘door to Rome’) is an undiscovered gem with Roman origins. You stay in the village amongst the locals where only Italian is spoken. Attend the Language School daily between 9am and 1pm. The afternoon is free to take excursions into the region and immerse yourself in the Italian way of life.

Arrive Portico di Ormagna Sunday and courses commence Monday morning.

Courses are from one week for beginners or those wanting to improve their knowledge. Classes are maximum eight students and open to all ages. More intensive individual courses are available for maximum 4 participants.

Stay in a charming 3 star restored traditional hotel – the only one in the village.

Sightseeing trips include:

• Ravenna to see masterpieces of Roman mosaics

• The Adriatic coast and the old 'salt' town of Cervia on the coast

• Hikes in the hills surrounding Portico di Romagna. The village is in the Romagna section of the upper Apennines that is within the National Park of the Forest of Casentinesi, Mts Falterona and Campigna so there are many trails to choose from.

• Art cities of Florence and Bologna (before and after course, optional, extra cost)

• Cooking classes, regional wine and typical product courses held by renowned chefs and sommelier

• Visit to local wine and olive oil producer with guided tour and tasting after

• Truffle hunting in season (Autumn) with truffle lunch after
