Itinerary and Highlights
- Day 1 (Sun) Arrive in Istanbul and transfer to hotel.
- Day 2 Visit the battlefields of Gallipoli and Anzac Cove.
- Day 3 Drive to Canakkale. Visit ancient site of Troy. Continue to Selcuk.
- Day 4 Explore the ruins of Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Drive to Pamukkale.
- Day 5 Explore the spectacular natural pools of Pamukkale and the ruins of Hierapolis. Drive to Fethiye on the coast where Lycian rock-cut tombs overlook the town from a steep cliff above.
- Day 6 Drive to Dalyan and take a boat ride through a reed labyrinth river to Iztuzu beach.
- Day 7 Visit the Greek ghost town of Kayakoy then explore the Lycian site of Xanthos. Continue to the delightful coastal village of Kas.
- Day 8 From neighbouring Kekova board a traditional gulet for a relaxing day cruise through the picturesque islands and coves. Visit the settlement of Ucagiz and the village of Simena.
- Day 9 Visit the ancient Lycian town of Phaselis then continue south to Antalya.
- Day 10 Visit the beautifully preserved ancient theatre at Aspendos. Drive inland to Konya, home of the Whirling Dervishes.
- Day 11 Drive to Cappadocia, the land of fairy chimneys. Visit the typical village of Belisirma in the Ihlara Valley. Explore the incredible underground city of Derinkuyu. Drive to Goreme.
- Day 12 Walk through the Love Valley to discover the unique rock formations. Explore the Pasabaglar Valley.
- Day 13 Visit the Göreme Open Air museum then travel through the Anatolian landscape via the salt lake, Tuz Gölü, to Ankara, Turkey’s capital city. Overnight train to Istanbul.
- Day 14 Morning sightseeing tour of Istanbul discovering the highlights of the Old City: the Blue Mosque; the ancient Hippodrome with Obelisk of Theodosius; Snake Pillar; and German Fountain of Wilhelm II. Free afternoon to visit the Grand Bazaar or take a cruise on the Bosphorous.
- Day 15 Trip ends in Istanbul after breakfast.
